My New Love

11159525_10153232276247969_2236448914988170563_nAgain apologies for being missing from the blog. I actually have a good reason!

My baby boy has arrived!

Dear Readers, I am happy to share that over a month ago my son, Green III, was born. Yep – my dumbass named him after his father (I’m a sucker for tradition… and roman numerals apparently.)

In the spirit of good humor and love, let’s instead call my darling boy, ‘Dash’ so that his blog name coordinates with those of his beautiful big sisters, Ditto and Dot.

Ladies, I know we like to swap pregnancy stories – after being diagnosed as an elderly mom (whoa, 41 means I’m elderly?! WTF?!), a lame case of gestational diabetes (double WTF?! I don’t even like or eat sweets!), and going past my due date (all my kids are slow pokes), I was induced at nearly 42 weeks but thankfully the labor was easy. Thank God.  Green was supportive and kind. (Like he had a choice!!!)  Dash weighed in at 8 lbs 8 ozs and was 23 inches long.

As for me I gained 40 pounds during my pregnancy and while I loved every minute of it – I am still fighting to lose those last 10 pounds. I will return to work in early summer – my job, thank God (again) – has a great maternity leave program. I was able to take off 10 weeks with full pay and use another 6 weeks from the state.  Heck, it’s not the awesome leave they give moms in Europe but for the US its been pretty great!

And since I’m too shy to share his face… here’s a darling foto of him… his precious tiny toes. Please help me in welcoming my new love, to help me heal my broken heart, my son Dash.

OMG you have no idea how many times I’ve thought of you and your newborn during your leave from blogging. You’re excused LOL you’ve been busy. Dash is beautiful. And looks robust and healthy:). My prayers to all of you. He will heal your broken heart until he breaks it as mine did this week:(. Right now I hate my life. So sick of the abuse and disrespect I’ve taught others that I have taken in the past all in the name of unconditional love. I’m digging deep for strength and peace. I swear I don’t think I can take much more.
